The wine estate of Joël Taluau et Thierry Foltzenlogel is a family business of 30 hectares, 25 hectares in the appellation of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil and 5 hectares in the appellation of Bourgueil. The vineyard is managed carefully, treatments are only applied to the vines when absolutely necessary. Thinning of the leaves, grape clusters thinned whilst green on vines less than 30 years old, removal of secondary buds on 80% of the vineyard. The vines on the estate have settled their roots into the hillside. For the most part exposed to the south and planted on a gentle slope of 10-15%. The soils are dominated by the siliceous, chalky, clay. The grape harvesting is by hand or machine. The grapes are sorted for quality. The maturation process in stainless steel vats. A family estate, simple and approachable that takes care of the soil for making wines as naturally as possible.
