JEAN-PIERRE MICHEL VIGNERON
955, Route de Quintaine
The vineyard of Jean-Pierre MICHEL is located in Quintaine, in the heart of the appellations Viré-Clessé and Mâcon-Villages. Covering an area of 8.5 hectares, it stretches along the hillsides overlooking the Saône valley, exposed to the rising sun halfway between Mâcon and Tournus. Jean-Pierre MICHEL, a passionate and rigorous winemaker, works his vines in the greatest respect of the soil (tilllage, mechanical and manual tilling only). Grapes are harvested manually at optimum maturity. The winemaking is conducted without chaptalization or yeasting and according to the typicity of terroirs, in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels, on fine lees for 12 months at least. His rich wines, fine and delicate at the same time, bloom fully in the 2 to 3 years for Mâcon-Villages, and well beyond for Viré-Clessé.
