COULY - DUTHEIL
12 rue Diderot
Founded in 1921, the Couly Dutheil family is owner of prestigious domaine vineyards amongst which the famous Clos de l’Olive & Clos de l’Echo (royal vineyard of King of France).
Today, the property is run by Arnaud COULY DUTHEIL who is recognized (by the wine specialists & press) as one of the most creative & talented young winemakers.
With the domaine’s vineyard all grassed through and run according to the rules of “La Lutte Raisonnée (biological culture methods)”, the estate has placed an increasing emphasis on high foliage (generally trimming the vines to 1.80 m), éclaircissage (to thin out), de-leafing around the bunches to keep the grapes healthy and then picking (mostly by hand) as late as possible to get full phenolic ripeness.
Thanks to a unique Chenin Blanc & Cabernet Franc style, Couly Dutheil Loire wines are leader on the French gastronomic restaurant and wineshops markets.
